Match Reports

We started the day not knowing if we were going to be able to play or not, down to the weather being so hit and miss over the last week. Come 2 o’clock and it was game on, for what was the reserves first game in 5 weeks so a rusty bunch of lads was to be expected.

Kick off with a damp pitch was a main factor as to why everyone’s first touch was a bit to be desired. However given 10 so minutes and TSM Reserves started to play some really good football all around the pitch.

Throughout this half TSM Reserves had something about them and all that was missing was a finishing touch to put us ahead, we missed a handful of chances before Westexe Park Rangers took their first attempt and slotted it into the goal just before the half time whistle was blew.

Straight from the off TSM Reserves looked to want to get back in the game, but still no one could put any shots away.

TSM Reserves didn’t let us on their determination to get back on form. Unfortunately with only 20 minutes left to go a 

laps in concentration from our back line allowed their striker to run past and slot home a 2nd goal for Westexe Park Rangers and that’s how it finished.

Although the score wasn’t in our favour Tedburn St Mary Reserves really showed alot of determination and strength all over the pitch. Well done Lads!

M.O.T.M: George Pavey – For it being his debut in Men’s football and playing as though he’s played adult football for years with skill and confidence, well done.

D.O.T.D: Jack Tucker- For falling flat on his face whilst trying to mess about on the bank of Barley Park.
